Fire Damages Four Homes in Loudoun County

The fire appeared to destroy two homes, and melted siding on two other homes

A firefighter suffered minor injuries fighting a blaze that burned through two homes in Loudoun County and damaged two other homes nearby.

Loudoun County Fire responded to Millstead Drive in Ashburn about 3 a.m. Two single-family homes had caught fire.

"The whole roof was on fire, just red everywhere," a neighbor who saw the blaze told News4. "It was scary. I don't know how else to explain it."

Both homes were apparently unoccupied during the fire, and no residents were reported hurt.

A firefighter was burned on the neck and taken to a hospital. They are expected to be OK.

Chopper4 footage shows both homes' top floors completely exposed, blackened and burned through. Two other homes on either side of the blaze were damaged by heat, and video shows the siding had melted off.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
