2 Teens Report Being Observed in Bathroom at Macy's in Virginia

Less than a month after a teenage boy reported a recording device in a bathroom at a Virginia mall, another teenage boy said he saw two men watching him in a stall in the same bathroom.

A 16-year-old boy using a bathroom at Macy’s at Springfield Town Center July 22 noticed a hole in the stall through which he saw himself on the display of a recording device, police said.

On Aug. 14, another teenage boy was in the same bathroom when he saw two men peeping at him through a crack in the stall he was using, police said. One of the men exposed himself and performed a lewd act.

“He called his mother or texted his mother and she was able to come in and scare the two men off," Fairfax County police Sgt. James Curry.

One of the men returned to the bathroom a short time later, according to the police report.

In each case, police have surveillance video of a man in the area at the time. They would like to identify them.

“Maybe you thought you saw something one day and you weren’t sure what happened,” Curry said. “Contact detectives; speak with them.”

Police have not established a concrete connection between the two incidents.

News4 reached out to mall security and Macy’s for comment. Police said they have a good relationship with both entities.
