PCP, Xanax Found in Maryland Toddler's System

Doctors found PCP and Xanax in a toddler’s system, Montgomery County Police said.

The 13-year-old brother of the 20-month-old girl found his sister unresponsive Wednesday and called his mother at work, police said. She rushed home and found her daughter not breathing. She called 911 while a neighbor performed CPR.

The girl was taken to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, Maryland, in serious condition, police said. The staff contacted police about the results of her blood test.

The mother told detectives she saw a bottle of pills on the coffee table before leaving for work and told the toddler's father, Jayson Hall, to put them somewhere the child couldn't get them, police.

Hall, 38, was home at the time the 13-year-old boy found his sister unresponsive, according to police. He is charged with child neglect, reckless endangerment and contributing to a condition which rendered the victim in need of supervision.

Hall posted $10,000 bond and was released.
